A New Direction
Now what exactly did I mean by "A New Direction"? Well I am going to be making a few diferences in how I approach this blog. For those of you who don't know me personally, I am a conservative Christian. Now those of you on the other side of the fence who kept on reading bravo. I know the reputation conservative Christians have. It is not an accurate dipiction of all of us. In fact, it doesn't fit a lot of us. For example, if your view of conservative Christians is based soley on the actions of the Westboro Baptist Church, then you really need to go out and meet some conservative CHRISTIANS. Most of us don't condone the actions and teachings of those people. In fact, we probably don't like them any more than you do. Now I have views on what is right and what is wrong that are far from popular but I don't force that on people. And if there is someone who doesn't agree with me then I really don't care. It's their life, their opinion, their worldview. Good for them. I will treat anyone I meet like a human being, and not just the bare minimum either. One of my best friends is an atheist. I will not only be kind to people who don't agree with my worldview I will befriend them if they will let me.
This "New Direction" I am taking will explore this idea of differing opinions and how two sides deal with two opinions. Let me warn you, It is very possible that I will piss off both sides. If you see me on the street and want to address something I said on here, please approach me civilly If you start of angry and such then I am probably going to tune you out and keep on walking.
I will continue to do some of the same old things that I have always done on here such as movie reviews and random articles. Hopefully people will read the blog. Hopefully we will have some fun conversations in the comments. And everyone remember, the only time some one is ignorant is when they will not listen to both sides of the story or at least give both sides their moment to speak

One thing that I have noticed about these movies is that they are increasingly becoming less about the infected and more about just how evil Umbrella is. Luckily this one has much more zombie killing in it than Afterlife did. However, creepy corridor moments are not in abundance. What is really surprising is the Mastermind Villain. Better watch all four movies before you go to see this one. It helps.
The 3D is actually very well done. They pull one stunt from Afterlife but aside from that very original.
The ending is a cliff hanger, not as bad as afterlife, so there will be a sixth Resident Evil movie. Can't freaking wait.
Two Thumbs up for Resident Evil: Retribution.

Get Committed
Disturbed's new album, Asylum, hit stores on August 31,2010. Fans could choose from the standard edition at $15.00 or the Limited edition at $20.00. The limited edition in the stores came with 2 bonus tracks, live versions of "Stricken" and "Down With the Sickness", as well as bonus dvd. The DVD had on it an hour long documentary, A Decade Of Disturbed, and several tutorials on how to play some of the group's songs. The iTunes version of the Limited edition contained only two tutorials and no documentary. However, did contain an extra bonus track, "Leave It Alone". Getting the iTunes version might be the better idea if you don't care about having an actual CD because it is like going back to Ten Thousand Fists where you have thirteen new songs and one remake.
The album as a whole was great. It is proof that Disturbed's music is continuing to evolve. I especially impressed from the way "Remnants" flowed into into the album's cover song, "Asylum". I am a huge Boston fan so this reminded me of the album, Third Stage. I'd like to see Disturbed do this in the future. The least mind-blowing track on this album is "Warrior". Maybe this is just me but seeing as how we just had "Indestructable" on the last album. Even so "Warrior" does stand apart from "Indestructable" in a good many ways. Where as "Indestructable had an air that mirrored the human nature to fight and wage war, the stance taken in "Warrior" seems to be from a percent who actually delights in war. With this in mind, it is not so surprising that someone has already made and AMV combining this song with the anime, Helsing.
Probably the most profound song in this album is "Never Again". Everyone should no by now that the lead singer of Disturbed is Jewish, although he denies being religious. Religious or not, anyone with that lineage is going to revere the holocost. How can you not be jewish and not get angry when someone treats it as a trivial matter or even says(And this does happen people) that there never was a holocost. For those of us who can't understand this anger, think about when someone told you that 9/11 never happened. Now combine that with the fact that Washington wants to let the Muslims build a mosque on Ground Zero. (Before I go any further, I would like to make it clear that I harbor no hatred for Islamic People in general, I just think that it would be extremely innapropriate and inconsiderate to build a mosque on that specific spot.) The song "Never Again" is Draiman striking back at those who take away from the significance of the Holocost. the below video is the song "Never Again."

Many of the quest lines are spoofs from other stories. For instance I am in the middle of a new questline called Wanderland. I'll give you a moment to get it. Just to be fair it's a questline open only to Amulet owners. There are also single quests that rip off several pop culture characters at once.
Amulet only priveledges:
-Owning Houses
-Use of Certain Items
-Use Of Dragons
-Use of certain Pets
-Entrance into certain areas.
-Certain Quests are for Amulet Owners Only.

Sims 3: Success Or Major FAIL
The rewards system in the sims three was disapointing to me. I think that the idea of making the sim not have to go to the bathroom sounds like a good idea. However I would much rather the bonus make it so that the sim does not have to go to the bathroom as much. The way the aging set up screws up the game as well. See that one reward in the Sims 2 that nade your sims cut back on age was great. I don't like the fact that you can't have kids grow up without getting old. It annoys me.
One thing we should all remember is that the majority of us Sims 2 players had almost all of the expansion packs to the Sims 2. That meant we had a whole lot added on since the game originally came out. So this game is still in the pre-expansion age. There is an expansion pack coming out in November for the Sims 3. The expansion is called: The Sims 3: World Adventures. Your sims will be able to take vacations in China, France, and Egypt. I think I'm gonna miss mountains and beach. This expansion will come with many items, I am sure. Also I have heard that there will be a 1000 sim points bonus with the game. The only reason for them to do this is for them to release special content exclusively for that expansion. By the way if your complaints are mainly about decoration objects and such, then I suggest you check out the Sims 3 online store where you can buy objects with sim points. Let me tell you, it is a better idea to buy a whole pack than to buy parts of it separately. So buy the whole pack because it will usually cost you half as much.
I believe the reason that we were ticked off with the Sims 3 was because most of us were expecting the Sims 2 with upgrades. The truth is that the Sims 3 is a completely new game, with new good points. I am so relieved that I no longer have to wait through a bunch of loading screens to get to a community lot. I'm also glad my sims can go see a movie or go to a concert. There are a lot of good things about the Sims 3. It just might take some time to find them all.

Halo v.s. Farcry: Which Is Better When It Comes To Map Editor?
So storyline is an important thing. But what about when you've beaten the game on all levels of difficulty and found all the secret objects. That's why there is multiplayer. Farcry takes it to a whole new level. Create multiplayer maps from scratch. And ladies and gentlemen, when I say from scratch, I mean from scratch. Terrain, structures, mounted weapons, spawn points, zip lines, ladders, flags, weapons, vehicles, health, upgrades, plants, time of day, and even fog.
Halo 3 was given a map editor of its own. However, all you could change was weapon, vehichle, obstacle, and upgrade placement. The only thing you could do that you couldn't do on Farcry was change the angle at which the weapon was placed. On Farcry you can only rotate the object on one plane. And then there was movie making which was a huge point scorer. But the only problem was, It wasn't a map editor. You did'nt have aenough space to get really creative except on Sandtrap, Avalanche, and Foundry. In Farcry you have more vehicles and you have access to all of them whenever you make a map. Farcry doesn't set the amount of restrictions that Halo 3 does. In order to have the best map editor, you need the least possible restrictions.

This is "Through the Fire and Flames" by the prog metal band, Dragonforce. Pretty complex bridgework from the sound of it, but I really don't know anything about guitars to be honest.

Legendary Map Pack
This is "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing" by the band Aerosmith. The song is one of my personal favorites because it was used in the Micheal Bay film: Armegeddon. And we all know what a scifi nerd I am. Any way it is a great song. Still working on making it so that my viewers can down load these songs from my blog.

The Sims 3
The Sims games are popular amongst people of both sexes and all ages. This new chapter in Sims history shall bring about a revolution that many of us have been waiting for. In the Sims 2 our sims were confined to their houses unless the player was willing to load into another lot. Can anybody say that that doesn't get annoying after a while? In the Sims 3, the player will be able to guide their sims through the neighborhood just by walking out the door. Yes people, the game is about to get more realistic. The details are still a bit unmapped, but it is also certain that the creating of user created sims is also about to get an upgrade.
Now for the bad news. There is also a negative about there being a new game. Now we have to not only buy the new game and possibly be forced to upgrade to Vista, but we will have to buy a whole new set of expansion packs. And this will probably happen every three to four years or so.
Overall I believe that the pros overcome the cons in this case. So I will probably end up going to get this one, and if it sucks then it's back to The Sims 2.

Out Of My Head
About half the time someone is a jerk, they aren't that way to every one. For instance there is this girl that I know who makes my life miserable. To me, she is a jerk. However, to others, she is pretty nice. I guess it can be compared to the way gangs work. yet in this case, it's the prissies agaist the nerds. It can get pretty hostile.

I am also a huge Tolkein and Micheal Crighton fan. I actually collect books by both authors. For Crighton I have read Jurassic Park, The Lost World, Congo, Sphere, and I am reading Timeline. I am also a HUGE fan of Jurassic Park. It is the BEST movie ever made. I have all three of them on DVD. Steven Speilberg is my favorite Director. My favorite actors are Harrison Ford, Jeff Goldblume, and Bruce Willis. Big fan of Preditor, Matrix, Terminator, and Die Hard. Live Free Die Hard, from what I was able to stomach, tainted the name of Die Hard.
I am also a big Transformers fan. i do have to admit that i do not really own but a few. Overall I favor the G1 series from the 80's. all of these can be found at youtube. I will eventually publish the link for the person who posts the episodes so that you can find all the G1 episodes with no hassel.
My Blog will have posts about all these things and more. So come on into the Raptor Nest.
